The NOTEbookS Web Retriever tool sets new standards of connectivity between the World Wide Web and NOTEbookS. Using Z39.50 tools NOTEbookS surfs the web at chosen sites to find MARC documents that match your search criteria . Once found they are displayed so that they can be selected. Selected documents are then downloaded into NOTEbookS where they can be reviewed, modified, and then stored.

NOTEbookS Web Retriever works seamlessly with both the NOTEbookS Online Catalog, Serials master holdings and can also be used for the Acquisitions module.

So What If You Don't Use NOTEbookS?

NOTEbookS Web Retriever makes use of a mapping file to convert MARC records into Notes. We supply a mapping file that works uses our data names for the Online Catalog file and our Serials file. However, using just Wordpad or a similar text editor the mapping file can be set up to map to your catalog's data names in a matter of minutes.

MARC Import Tool
Automatically imports exported MARC records including OCLC collections directly into Online Catalog or Serials module. If combined with custom coding can translate nearly any collection (such as Marcive, TinLib and Datatrek) into NOTEbookS.  MARC Import interface is almost identical to Web Retriever and uses the same mapping files.
